This paper presents the scope objectives and tasks of the recently established European Networks and Information Security Agency - ENISA. ENISA’s mission is to create a platform for a culture of network and information security in Europe, in order to facilitate stakeholders, including EU Institutions and Member States, promote secure solutions in using eNetworks and eInformation. Awareness raising as well as promotion of best practices, are among the initial tasks that ENISA will perform, aiming to become a centre of excellence in the area of eSecurity in EU.
