Measurement of sub-1dB noise figure in a non-degenerate cascaded phase-sensitive fibre parametric amplifier

Noise figure (NF) spectrum as well as its signal-power-dependence in a non-degenerate cascaded phase-sensitive fibre parametric amplifier was characterized. A 0.8 dB NF (2 dB below the conventional quantum limit) was achieved at 11 dB gain.
