In this paper, a concise methodology and a corresponding architecture for gracefully integrating complex, divert and polymorph map-related information to large-scale, high- end educational systems are proposed. Both the methodology and the architecture are based on the use of a specially designed metadata database, called Content Map of an Information System. Designing an IS in the proposed way significantly increases the possibility of producing a very highly organised, adaptable and viable Information System (IS). It also reduces costs of creation, deployment, maintenance and upgrade of the IS, and greatly facilitates the wise re-use of geo-referenced data
