The Mobile Based Integrated Notification (MoBINo) is a web-based environment for automatic SMS notification. It leverages the integration of the mobile telecommunications with the information technology in the context of push services. In a push service a user is interested in future events and when these take place, pertinent content is sent (pushed) to the end-user. In the following the specification and the development of the MoBINo platform is described in detail. The platform can be customized for the development of services or used as a middleware component in a distributed environment. The main features include its lightweight nature of the component and the programming hooks it offers.
