A review of main scene understanding techniques is presented in this chapter. After a definition of the purpose and usefulness of scene understanding, visual scene understanding techniques will be presented, based on good view criteria. These techniques try to find the best (or one of the best) point of view for a given scene, in order to allow a good understanding of the scene by the user. The used scene understanding techniques will be divided in too categories: "a posteriori" and " priori" techniques.
