heal.abstract	Περίληψη:Η Κρήτη είναι ένα από τα ωραιότερα και σπουδαιότερα νησιά του κόσμου, όχι μόνο για την έκτασή της οποίας είναι 8.336 τ.μ., αλλά και για την γλυκύτητα του κλίματός της, τη γονιμότητα του εδάφους της καθώς και η ιστορία της. Η Κρήτη είναι μια πόρτα ανοικτή στη δύση και στην ανατολή. Αποτελεί το σταυροδρόμι των πανάρχαιων θαλάσσιων δρόμων της Μεσογείου και το σημείο συνάντησης διαφορετικών λαών και ετερόκλιτων πολιτισμών. Για να επικεντρωθούμε όμως στο θέμα της εργασίας μας, εξετάζουμε κατ’ αρχάς τις επιδράσεις του μαζικού τουρισμού πάνω στην κοινωνική δομή του νησιού. Από τη διερεύνηση προέκυψε η αναγκαιότητα προσεκτικών χειρισμών, ώστε να διασφαλιστεί ο σεβασμός στο σπουδαίο κοινωνικό οικοδόμημα της Κρήτης, με τη ραγδαία τουριστική ανάπτυξη και πούμε αργότερα ότι ο τουρισμός έχει αλλάξει πολλά, στη ντόπια παράδοση και ζωή (John E. Taylor 2001). Είναι ευθύνη όλων να κρατήσουν ζωντανές τις παραδόσεις, τα ήθη και τα έθιμα τους καθώς το ψηλό αίσθημα της φιλοξενίας, της λεβεντιάς, της μεγάλης καρδιάς, και για τα οποία θαυμάζονται απ’ όλους που επισκέπτονται το νησί. Για το όραμα αυτής της κατεύθυνσης επιβάλλεται η συνεργασία από όλους, βασισμένη πάνω σε μια εθνική στρατηγική, με έμφαση κυρίως στα πολιτιστικά αποθέματα και στην πολιτιστική κληρονομιά του νησιού. heal.abstract	Abstract: Crete appears to be one of the most beautiful and important islands in the world. As it was noticed, this is owing to a combination of factors which are both of a natural and of a cultural character. Specifically speaking, the significance of the island can arise from its geographical size, which is extended in 8,336 square kilometres. Also, it can arise from the mildness of its climate, the fertility of its ground and the rest of the privileges that nature has endowed it with. This examination can help draw some conclusions. Crete is a big island at a significant position, as it is situated in the middle of three continents, which makes it feasible for many tourists, coming from those continents, to visit it. It is obvious from all the above, that tourism has acquired a considerable position in the fields of economy. At the same time, certain measures have to be taken by the city planning authorities so that the picturesqueness and the traditional character of the cities are well kept. Another burning issue is that the traditions, the customs, the hospitality and the generosity as well as the warm-heartedness of the Cretan people are all well preserved too. To sum up, the natural and cultural features that Crete possesses appear to be of singular importance for tourist movement, which leads to the conclusion that their proper utilization will turn the natural and cultural resources of the island into levers of tourist development.	en
