The dissertation is concerned to the design and composition of a Data Base for the documentation and classification of the Optical Diagnostic Methods of analysis, which are used from the members of the Physical and Chemical Methods and Techniques Workshop of the department of the Art Work Conservation.
First, there is a chapter of the dissertation presents examples of documentation systems used by different Institutions, Museums and Centers in Greece and abroad.
Then, the requirements and the aim of the database, the origin of information and the users are defined in the dissertation.
Furthermore, there is an extensive reference on the stages of the conceptual database design and the final entities – relationships model. In addition, a description of a logical and functional database analysis is presented.
The database, which is developed on Microsoft, Access 2000 program, carries out the storage, the classification and the elaboration of the data, which concerns:
