heal.abstract	The aim of this study is to examine the smoking frequency relating to alcohol consumption among nursing students. Material and method: This study was conducted among 345 nursing students, 115 from T.E.I. of Athens, 115 from the University of Nothumbria at Newcastle-UK, and 115 from the North Carelia Polytechnic of Joensuu-Finland. A special anonymous questionnaire, containing strictly personal questions, was completed by nursing students. The questionnaire included close type questions relevant to the subject concept and to the biosocial personal characteristics of the nursing students. Stable findings show that the highest percentage of Greek and Finnish students are smokers whereas, English students prove to consume the highest percentage of alcohol. Smoking is not related to the consumption of alcohol and Greek and Finnish smokers are not necessarily great consumers of alcohol. On the other hand, English student who frequent consume alcohol are not heavy smokers.	en
